Product Review: NYX Eyeshadow Base and ETUDE HOUSE’S Proof 10 Eye Primer

EYE SHADOW BASE or PRIMER is A MUST!  (especially to those who have very oily lids)

An eye shadow primer is a must, prior to the application of eye shadows to prevent it from creasing, smudging or fading at the end of the day. I find it embarrassing when eye makeup crease or smudge because of so much oiliness. I'm really a lover of eye makeup so I felt like I needed to find a perfect eye shadow primer since eye shadow primers when applied prior to the eye shadow application somehow enhance or intensify the color of the eye shadow.  Well, I honestly don’t want to invest a lot of money in buying eye shadow primers; I’d rather invest money on eye shadows, blush on, foundations, etc.  So far, I’ve only tried two eye shadow bases/primers.

One of the cheap eye shadow bases I’ve tried is the NYX eye shadow base in skin tone.

I can say that it really makes the eye shadow last longer but I’m not really satisfied because it doesn't enhance or intensify the color of the eye shadow really well. It somehow makes the eye shadow a bit darker than its actual color since the base has a color(skin tone) itself. (I purchased this eye shadow base online and it costs 350 pesos plus 50 pesos shipping fee/ $6.00 USD)

Another eye shadow primer I’ve tried is the ETUDE HOUSE’S PROOF 10 EYE PRIMER.
ETUDE HOUSE’S Proof 10 Eye Primer

I am really amazed with how the color of the eye shadow turned out when I primed my eyes with this eye shadow primer. It really enhanced/ intensified the color and it really holds and makes the eye shadow last longer. The eye shadow (primed with etude house’s proof 10 eye primer) doesn’t crease and smudge throughout the day. It works really well for me. (It costs 298 pesos)

After trying and being satisfied with the results that the Proof 10 Eye primer gave, I’m thinking if I should still try Urban Decay Primer Potion since I have heard a lot of good reviews about this. What do you think guys? ΓΌ Hmmm.  Maybe I’ll try it next time and compare it with other eye shadow bases / primers.

These two are really a good purchase if you're in a tight budget and looking for inexpensive but good quality eyeshadow primers.

Note: This is only a product review and not a comparison because Eye shadow Base and Eye shadow Primers are not totally the same. I'll put up a blog talking about their differences. :)

Disclaimer : I purchased all products that I mentioned above with my own money. I was not asked or paid by any companies to do this review. All opinions are my own.
